IBM ranked fastest-growing vendor in Gartner Worldwide Security Software Study

IBM Security today announced it has been ranked the fastest growing vendor in the worldwide security software market, based on 2014 revenue according by technology market researcher Gartner, Inc.

''We feel our growth is based on IBM's focus on delivering the intelligence-driven innovation and insights clients need to fight today's sophisticated cyber criminals, and believe it is no coincidence that we are growing the fastest of the big brands in this study," said Brendan Hannigan, General Manager, IBM Security.

"We see the investments we've made in our portfolio and people clearly paying dividends for our clients as they navigate the evolving cyber security environment,'' Hannigan added.

The study found that the worldwide security software market revenue grew to $21.4 billion in 2014, a 5.-per cent increase from 2013's revenue of $20.3 billion.

High-growth areas that contributed to this increase in value include technologies such as security information and event management (SIEM). The SIEM market grew 11 per cent in 2014 to touch $1.6 billion in revenue.
