Hyderabad: Maxtor Corporation, a global major in hard disk drives and storage solutions, has launched a summer promotion programme, Find the Diamond in the DiamondMax, a lucky draw that will be in operation during June 2002.

Every end-user buying a PC from Maxtors original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners, like Wipro, PCS, Vintron and Cerbera, with a built-in Maxtor hard disk drive, stands the chance to be one of the three lucky winners of an exquisite diamond each. The dealers will submit the contestants particulars to OEMs, who consolidate the entries for Maxtor. The winners for the lucky draw will be announced in July 2002.

This is the first time that Maxtor has announced a promotional offer to its end-users in India. All Maxtor employees, authorised distributors and tier-one import partners are ineligible for the lucky draw.

The DiamondMax mainstream hard drive (D540X) is the highest capacity ATA hard drive in the world at 160 GB. This drive family is designed for applications that demand maximum storage and superior performance, such as PC systems, consumer electronics and network-attached storage. Products feature a 5400 RPM spindle speed and support the Ultra ATA/133 interface for up to 133 MB/sec data transfer rates.
