Alcatel-Lucent introduces new IP routers

It expects to extend advanced mobile, business and residential services to smaller markets, eith these new routers.
Alcatel-Lucent today announced the introduction of two new IP routers designed to give service providers an economically viable alternative for offering smaller communities the same advanced mobile, residential and business services currently delivered in larger metropolitan areas.
The new products, which will expand the addressable market of Alcatel-Lucent's industry-leading Service Router portfolio, will extend the benefits of service routing further out into the network and also enable mission-critical verticals such as utilities, transportation, healthcare, public safety, and financial institutions to confidently transform their networks to all-IP with a solution scaled to their needs.
Alsate-Lucent said in a statement, "New smaller scale platforms allow service providers to extend advantages of Service Routing to furthest reaches of IP network edge at a more economical price point."
