Norwegian paint maker Jotun reaches out to Indian shoppers at Oberoi Mall

Jotun India, the Indian arm of Norwegian paint company, has come up with an innovative way to reach out to potential customers in India. It has tied up with Oberoi Mall, Goregaon, Mumbai, to give shoppers a first-hand experience of new-age painting solutions and trends by exclusively decorating the homes of three lucky shoppers with its latest interior decorative applications.

The 'Home Wall Make-over' mega prize will be one of the key highlights of the mall's monsoon shopping extravaganza called 'Oberoi Offers'. Shoppers with a bill amount of Rs2009 from any of the outlets will be entitled to play a lucky game in the mall's atrium. The mega prize for the lucky game is to be won by three lucky houses, which would be refurbished with modern styles and textures of interior wall painting by Jotun.

Commenting on the campaign, Percy Jijina, GM, decorative, Jotun India, said, ''Our association with Oberoi Mall is a one-of-its-kind platform to reach out to customers. We are hoping that the 'Home Wall Make-over' which is the mega prize for the event, will create a pleasant and colourful environment for shoppers. In addition we will also have a kiosk put up at the mall that will offer design solutions to those shoppers looking at giving their homes a make over.''

Jotun India has set up a national chain of 176 exclusive retail outlets across the country for its customers, who may avail of their products and services. Included in its offering are its ColorAdvisor kiosks that allow customers to choose the exact shade they desire and are shown exactly how a particular room will look once it is painted. In addition, Jotun's retail personnel at each outlet offer style and wall texture advice, which customers may adopt for their home décor.

In May earlier in Saudi Arabia, Jotun Paints had carried out another innovative promotional campaign to celebrate with customers, offering them fabulous prizes to mark its 25 years of operations in Saudi Arabia. While the first-prize winner received a Toyota Sequoia car, 24 other winners were given Home Center gift vouchers worth SR5,000 each.
 
Founded in 1926 in Norway, Jotun is one of the world's leading paint manufacturers. The group consists of 67 companies and 40 production facilities around the world and is looking at strengthening its presence in India.

Outside Europe Jotun has a very strong hold in Middle-East & Asia Pacific. Jotun India set a shop in India in the year 2005, with an intention of providing a single source solution for all paints and coatings. Jotun's manufacturing plant in Pune has been set up at an investment of $25 million and will have a capacity to produce up to 50 million litres in wet paint and 10,000 metric tones of powder coatings.

Jotun's diverse product range worldwide includes decorative, protective, powder, marine, floor/concrete protection and coatings.

In 2008 the Jotun Group had a total sales income of NOK11 703 million, and employs 7,200 workers.
