Madison wins Grand Emvie

The much-awaited results of the Emvies 2008, organised by the Advertising Club Bombay, announced yesterday, saw Madison Communications walking away with the prestigious Grand Emvie along with the Special Award for the Best Radio Innovation for its 'Saffola (World Heart Day) - Radio Mumbai -'Bringing Mumbai together'.

Undoubtedly the winner, MindShare came home with four Golds and eight Silvers and the coveted 'Agency of the Year'.

Lodestar Universal bagged the People's Choice Awards for Best Case Study presentation with an award on each of the two days of the presentations. On the first day of the presentation of the case studies on 21 July, Lodestar's case study, "Westside Index - A Guide to Business Expansion for Trent Ltd" was awarded the Best Media Research agency.

Again on the second day of the presentations, Lodestar won the award for its presentation, this time for its work on the cooperatives giant, Amul, titled "Going against the Flow and Succeeding" in the Best Media Strategy (consumer products) category.

A special award by TAM Media Research, simply called the TAM Award, went to MindShare for English Premier League, The Engagement Quotient Tester, in the Best Media Research category.

The MindShare team was awarded a gold medal, a cash prize of Rs50,000 and a certificate for the Best TV Research.

The Madison team received a cash prize of Rs25,000 for its radio innovation.

The Emvies 2008 saw a record number of 452 entries, with 53 making it it to the final cut.

The first round of judging for EMVIES 2008 was conducted on 7 July, followed by the Case Study presentations on 21 and 22 July. (See: Record entries for Emvies 2008 awards
