Close on the heels of the Veyron Bleu Centenaire, which Bugatti launched at the start of this year which is its century year, the premier luxury car maker has unveiled the 16C Galibier concept. The car unveiled at Frankfurt is 'intended to be the most exclusive, elegant and powerful four door automobile in the world'.

Bugatti 16 C The new Bugatti which is expected to go into production by 2013 will be powered by the W16 power-train that is used in the Veyron supercar, but this will come with two turbochargers which means its power will fall to just 800bhp, it cannot therefore hit the top speed of 253mph of the Veryon.

But what it loses in speed, the torpedo-like 16C Galibier makes up for in sheer class, evident from the polished aluminium doors and front wings that contrast strikingly with the dark blue, handmade carbon body.

The wonderfully striking car comes with twin mechanical superchargers plus a four-wheel drive with as many as eight canted exhaust pipes.

According to Bugatti insiders they plan to build the world's fastest, most accelerative saloon with a top speed of nearly 240 mph.

The styling and detailing, according to aficionados, are elegantly done with the tight '57 Atlantique-inspired central spine running along the roof and rear window. The Parmigiani clock on the dash can even be worn on the wrist.
