Mumbai: Some vehicle makers have raised prices ahead of the festival season. Top vehicle maker Tata Motors Ltd raised prices on its entire range of commercial vehicles by 2.0-2.5 per cent effective October 8 to partially offset higher input costs and costs related to safety norms.

Utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has raised prices of premium variants of its best-selling Scorpio sport utility by Rs7,500 from October 1, a spokesman said.

No. 2 truck maker Ashok Leyland Ltd will soon raise prices across its entire range by about 1.5-2.0 per cent, a senior company official said.
