Mumbai: The first co production vehicle from the Tata-Fiat alliance is expected to be a pick-up truck, unveiled at the Bologna Motor show in Italy recently.

The T L Sprint, as the displayed model was labelled, is a four door, all-wheel drive pick-up. It will be marketed in Latin America and South East Asia before being launched in Europe.

The vehicle is expected to be manufactured during the second half or 2007, and will be fitted with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder a common-rail diesel engine and have accessories like power windows, air-conditioning, a CD player and dual airbags as a safety feature.

Fiat and Tata had announced a partnership late last year to develop common platforms for cars, which would lead to the launch of the Grande Punto and on Indian roads.
