Frankfurt: Europe's largest airline, Lufthansa, is keen on introducing more flights on the Bangalore-Munich sector.

"Bangalore is a booming centre for airline business and India is our strategic destination. We are keen on adding more flights to this sector - especially the Bangalore-Munich sector, where IT professionals are traveling in large numbers," said Lufthansa airlines director (South Asia), Werner Heesen, while making a presentation to visiting Indian media at Lufthansa headquarters in Frankfurt on Tuesday.

He also pointed out that Lufthansa was adding new destinations like Kochi, Ahmedabad, Pune etc. In this regard he said that both the German and Indian governments had agreed to meet shortly and were hopeful of a positive outcome from the bilateral talks.

"From our side, we have submitted the proposal and hope that the Indian government will open up more rights to operate," Heesen said.
