IndiGo to connect Chandigarh to Mumbai, Goa and Ahmedabad

Low cost airline IndiGo today announced the launch of flights connecting Chandigarh with Mumbai, Goa and Ahmedabad, beginning 10 September, as part of its efforts to expand footprint in the country.
The airline has announced Chandigarh will be its new destination. IndiGo is also launching four additional flights from Mumbai.
"Effective September 10, we will operate two new daily and direct flights between Chandigarh and Mumbai. Additionally, we will also connect Chandigarh with Goa and Ahmedabad via Mumbai," IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh told reporters today.
IndiGo has kept the fare for flight from Chandigarh to Mumbai at Rs4,504 and from Mumbai to Chandigarh at Rs4,670. The fares for the Chandigarh-Goa and Ahmedabad-via-Mumbai flights are Rs4,977 and Rs4,714, respectively.
''Mumbai-Chandigarh and Mumbai-Ahmedabad have emerged as sectors that have started attracting both leisure and business passengers in the recent past, and hold immense potential for IndiGo. We are also looking at providing affordable fares on these new routes for regular travellers. In addition, we are also looking at the connectivity between Bangalore and Chandigarh in near future,'' Ghosh said.
"We are also looking at the connectivity of Chandigarh with Bangalore and Srinagar in near future," he added.
IndiGo, which currently operates 373 flights connecting 33 destinations across the country, has plans to start operations from Chandigarh to Srinagar and Bangalore as well.
