Refurbished aircraft, onward USA connections from Finnair on Mumbai-Helsinki route

Mumbai: Finnair has said that it will add one more flight on the Mumbai-Helsinki route starting 2 June 2008 to the current five flights a week it already operates on the route. This additional flight will offer onward connections to JFK, New York.
Finnair began operations last year, June.
According to airline officials, the minimum transit time for USA-bound passengers from Mumbai at the Vantaa Helsinki airport is 35 minutes. With Finnair being a One World member passengers can take onward connections to any city in the USA with American Airlines.
The airline said that it has experienced an average load factor of 70 per cent on its Indian routes.
By way of an additional facility, Finnair plans to introduce flat beds by refurbishing the A340 aircraft, which is being used on the Mumbai-Helsinki route. The refurbishing will commence August 2008.
The airline will also add more seats in the Business Class on the route.
