Mumbai: Jet Airways has confirmed that the airline is in talks with several Chinese airlines for a possible partnership ahead of setting up Shanghai as its hub for onward flights to the west coast of North America.

Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, has confirmed the move without naming the airlines involved. The partnership would be similar to its existing tie-up with Brussels Airlines.

Jet has Brussels as its hub for Europe and for cities on the US east coast. It has partnered with Brussels Airlines for onward connections from Brussels to various cities in Europe.

A similar agreement would help Jet improve connectivity in China.

Prock-Schauer also reaffirmed the airline's plans to raise $400 million through a rights issue or a QIP.
