Mumbai: Jet Airways is finalising plans to make China a hub for it services to destinations on the US west coast like San Francisco and Los Angeles and, in the future, to destinations like Vancouver in Canada.

''It is much shorter to fly from China to the US west coast than from Singapore. This way, the yields on the routes will also be higher,'' says Jet Airways chairman, Naresh Goyal.

Besides the Mumbai-Shanghai-San Francisco flight, which will be launched next month, Goyal has plans to start flights to the Chinese capital, Beijing, and to the important industrial hub of Guangzhou in southern China, which lies across the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.
