Safe Flight Instrument Corporation and West Star Aviation have announced that they are installing Safe Flight's automatic throttle system, AutoPower, on the Hawker 800 series business jets.

AutoPower will be certified under a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) for the Hawker 800 by West Star Aviation. It is expected to be ready for delivery in about twelve months. The automatic throttle system will also be available as a production option on the Hawker Beechcraft and as a retrofit on existing Hawker 800s.

A full authority system with takeoff to touchdown capabilities, AutoPower is expected to improve the performance and safety of Hawker 800s. More than 9,000 corporate, commercial, and military aircraft, including the USAF RC-135, Bombardier's Challenger series 604, 605 and 850, the CRJ200 and the Gulfstream G200 have successfully used systems and components from Safe Flight.

West Star Aviation is a full service FBO specialising in airframe maintenance, engine repair, interior, paint and avionics upgrades for a wide variety of corporate and general aviation aircraft.
