27 Aug 2007
On 6 September, Korean Air will unveil to the public the A380, the carrier's newest addition to its fleet of passenger jets, equipped with an inflight bar and lounge. The airline plans to hold a test flight for the A380 on September 6 at Incheon International Airport.
The A380 being introduced this time is the MSN7 model, which has 519 seats —12 in first class, 64 in business class and 443 in economy class seats. The aircraft is equipped inflight bars, lounges and other features that take full advantage of the aircraft's ample cabin space.
Korean Air says the purpose of this flight is to introduce the latest inflight services to Korean customers and plans to select a panel of 20 lucky passengers via an Internet quiz on the Korean Air website. The airline will choose 20 winners among applicants who submit the correct answers through a lottery draw. These winners will be given souvenirs and a chance to board the A380 on 6 September.
Korean Air has five A380 super jumbos on order, and will use them on its long-haul flights to the United States and Europe beginning in 2010.
