Bombardier has announced that Hawker Pacific, which has facilities at Cairns in northeast Australia, has been selected as a 'recognised service facility' (RSF) for its 8/Q-Series aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the RSF agreement, Hawker Pacific will perform 'C' checks and other heavy maintenance, as well as aircraft modifications and upgrades, on all CRJ 8/Q-Series aircraft. There are 172 CRJ 8/Q-Series aircraft in service or on firm order in the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition to Hawker Pacific, STAECO of Jinan, China, is an RSF for Bombardier's CRJ Series aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region. In Europe, Adria Airways of Slovenia is the RSF for the CRJ regional jet family, while Flybe in England serves operators of Dash 8/Q-Series turboprops.

In North America, Bombardier itself provides maintenance at the West Virginia Air Center in Bridgeport, and Tucson Air Centre, Arizona. Bombardier also provides line maintenance at the John F Kennedy international airport in New York, the Raleigh-Durham international airport in North Carolina, the Tulsa international airport in Oklahoma, the Washington Dulles international airport and Ronald Reagan Washington national airport, in Washington DC.
