Indian Oil Skytanking in fueling pact with Bangalore Intl airport

Bangalore:  Indian Oil Skytanking Ltd (IOSL), a joint venture between the Indian Oil Corporation and Skytanking GmbH, Germany, has announced an agreement with Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) under which it will offer fueling services to domestic and international airlines at BIAL for a period of ten years. Bangalore's new airport is scheduled to begin operations by April 2008.

The agreement was signed by Albert Brunner, CEO of Bangalore International Airport Ltd and Dr R Ravi Kumar, CEO of Indian Oil Skytanking Ltd in a ceremony which was also attended by Paul Workman, MD of Skytanking GmbH Germany, Pieter Van Espen, MD of Skytanking Belgium, R. Sareen, head of aviation functions at IOC and other senior officials of BIAL, IOC and IOSL, said an IOSL release.

IOSL is also the fuel partner for BIAL and is already building a fuel farm facility and hydrant system at a cost of $23 million at the airport. This fuel farm facility is expected to be ready by the end of the year.

Bangalore International Airport is expected to handle up to 100,000 takeoffs and landings annually.
