Eagan, USA: US carrier Northwest Airlines has announced that Indian carrier and full service provider, Kingfisher Airlines, has joined the Northwest WorldPerks programme as a partner airline. The partnership will provide programme benefits to Northwest's WorldPerks members traveling within India, even as they earn and redeem frequent flyer miles on Kingfisher.

Northwest, through its joint venture partnership with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, currently offers 18 weekly flights from the US to India, via Amsterdam, and accesses airports at Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.

The partnership will include convenient electronic ticketing and through check-in services for all passengers, when connecting between Northwest and Kingfisher flights. In addition, Northwest WorldClub members and World Business Class customers will have access to Kingfisher's airport lounges in India.

Northwest Airlines is one of the world's largest, with hubs at Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Memphis, Tokyo and Amsterdam. It has approximately 1,400 daily departures.
