Hindustan Construction orders Bell/Augusta BA609 Tilt Rotor aircraft

Bangalore: Bell Helicopter today announced that the Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) had ordered a second BA609 tilt rotor aircraft. BA609 is a joint venture between Bell Helicopter and Agusta Westland of Italy. It can take off like a helicopter, then change mid-flight into airplane mode, flying at up to twice the speed of a conventional helicopter.

With a range of 700 nautical miles (1,295 km), the BA609 is ideally suited to connect major city centers without the need to land or take off from an airport. HCC is an engineering and construction company that takes on major projects in the transportation, power, marine projects, oil and gas pipelines, irrigation and water supply, utilities and urban infrastructure sectors.
