Mumbai: The on-going drive against unauthorised shops and offices in Delhi, being carried out following the directives of Supreme Court (SC), has brought work at the office of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to standstill.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) sealed its building opposite Bhikaji Cama Place in South Delhi as part of the eviction drive despite repeated requests for extension of time, TRAI officials said.

The MCD has resumed the sealing of unauthorised commercial establishments in residential areas following a Supreme Court directive.

TRAI has already identified a new building and will soon shift to the new premises, officials said, adding they are planning to approach the Supreme Court to seek an extension.

"We have also spoken to Mr Bhure Lal, member of the Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee," the officials said.
