Nasscom ranks Birlasoft 15th among the 20 biggest software exporting companies in India

New Delhi: Birlasoft Ltd has been included among the top 20 software exporting companies in India by Nasscom rubbing shoulders with IT luminaries like TCS, Infosys and Wipro. This is the first time that the company has achieved this ranking.
The Nasscom ranking of the top 20 Indian software companies is eagerly awaited by all Indian IT companies. The IT arm of the G.P. - C.K. Birla Group, has so ranked because of its export earning of US$ 73.4 million in the last year. With a current growth rate of 36 percent the company is fast increasing its presence in the software sector by attracting the best talent in the market to its fold.
Mr. Kamal Mansharamani, COO, Birlasoft Ltd, said "We are proud to be recognized as the fifteenth largest software exporter in India by Nasscom. Three years ago, we began the process of evolving into a complete solutions-oriented company, with core competencies around key technologies but it is only now that our efforts are bearing fruit. We are well on the path to growth with a number of systems and processes being set up to increment customer satisfaction. Our three offshore development centers, the new processes and systems that have been set up and our partnership with PeopleSoft, are all aimed at enhancing our software exports. To further improve its standing in the Indian software industry, Birlasoft has developed 'Centers of Excellence' within the organization. This refers to the company acquiring unique skills, tools and methodologies that are essential to a client's business by making huge investments in these areas. The 'Centers of Excellence' (COE) provide the framework, expertise and support to deliver services by leveraging offshore development centers.
These COE's provide:
- Resources for common support activities like upgrades and production support
- On demand subject-matter expertise that is available as and when needed
- Access to best-practice methodologies, tools and process design
