Dow down after benchmark high
Mumbai:
After crossing the 14000-mark on Thursday, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 149.33 points, (1.07 per cent) ending at 13,851.08.

The Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 18.98 points, or 1.22 per cent, to finish at 1,534.10. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 32.44 points, (1.19 per cent) ending at 2,687.60.

This ended the three weeks of gains for the Dow, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq, which ended the week down 0.4 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 0.7 per cent respectively.

The indices were battered down by disappointing results from Caterpillar and Google, with Fed chairman Ben Bernanke's observations on the sub prime mortgage market.
