Arvind Virmani appointed new chief economic advisor
New Delhi: The appointments committee of the Union Cabinet has appointed Arvind Virmani, presently principal advisor, Planning Commission, as chief economic advisor, department of economic affairs, ministry of finance.

He will take over from Ashok Lahiri, who is moving to the Asian Development Bank as India's representative.
