Bacardi-Martini
appoints top level executives
Mumbai: Bacardi-Martini has appointed Jayant Kapur
as chairman of the board of directors of the company while
Mahesh Madhavan, currently managing director of Bacardi
Thailand, has been relocated to India and promoted to
president and CEO of Bacardi-Martini India. The senior
appointments will come into effect from August 1.

Piyush
Pandey appointed vice chairman of O&M Asia Pacific
Mumbai: Piyush Pandey has been elected vice chairman
of Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific by the agency's regional
board. Pandey will continue as executive chairman and
national creative director, O&M India. Last year,
Pandey was inducted into Ogilvy's worldwide board.

than 30 American Indians named
Ernst & Young awards finalists
New York: More than 30 Indian Americans are among
the regional finalists selected for the Ernst and Young's
Entrepreneur of The Year awards for 2007.
Prominent
American Indians in the list include Dipak Jain, dean of the Kellogg School of
Management at Northwestern University and Anil Sunkara, chief executive officer
of AdvanSoft International. Both are from Lake area of Michigan. Jaswinder
Singh Chaddha, Francisco D'Souza, Roopa Makhija, Hiten Patel, Ranjani Posddar,
Imran Shah and Karmit S. Sidhu are the seven finalists from the state of New Jersey.
Other
notable regional Indian American finalists include Prashanth Boccasam, Shankar
Iyer, Rahul Sharma, Bala Sundar, Yatish Mishra, Puneet Nanda, Manu Shah, Raj,
Pritam M. Advani, Inderpal Guglani, Anurag Mehta, Naseem A. Munshi, Asit J. Choksi,
Satin Mirchandani, Shri Thanedari, Dilip Dubey, Ravinder Sandhu, Ganesh Iyer,
Gulam Khan, Sunil Hirani, Adnan Mjalli, Raman Kumar, Rohit H. Patel and Raza Bokhari.
The
winners will be inducted into the Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur
of The Year Hall of Fame.

Kamat is Goa CM
Panaji: Congress leader, Digambar Kamat has been sworn-in
as the new chief minister of Goa. Three other ministers,
one each from Congress, NCP and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak
Party (MGP) were also sworn in as ministers.
Kamat,
the 54-year-old Power Minister in the present Congress
government led by Pratapsinh Rane, was ''unanimously''
elected as the leader of Congress Legislature Party last
night and was the compromise choice for the post after
opinions among Congress MLAs were sharply divided on whether
Pratapsinh Rane or Naik would become the chief minister.
