Sunil Mittal is new president of CII
New Delhi:
Sunil Bharti Mittal, Bharti Enterprises chairman and group CEO has been elected as the president of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2007-08.

Mittal take over from Ashok Leyland MD R Seshasayee. Bharti Airtel is the world's tenth largest company in terms of subscriber numbers and India's most valuable telecom company.

Mittal was CII's vice-president during 2006-07 and is a member of the prime minister's council on trade and industry. He serves on the boards of governors of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow and the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

KV Kamath, ICICI Bank MD and CEO has been elected as the CII vice-president.
