Rajdeep Sardesai in collaborative venture with TV18
Mumbai: Rajdeep Sardesai, former Managing Editor, NDTV, and Sameer Manchanda, former Chief Financial Officer, NDTV, have formed a new venture, Broadcast News, in collaboration with the Television Eighteen (TV18) Group to launch television channels in the news and information space. Both Sardesai and Manchanda quit NDTV after a long stint.

When contacted Haresh Chawla, CEO, CNBC-TV18, said details of the new venture would be announced next week. He declined to give any details on the holding structure, the format, the staffing or the date of launch of the channels.

OP Jindal's wife takes over as JVSL chairperson
New Delhi:
The late steel baron O.P. Jindal's wife Ms Savitri Devi Jindal has replaced the eldest son, Prithvi Raj Jindal, as the Chairman of Jindal Vijaynagar Steel Ltd (JVSL) controlled by second son Sajjan Jindal following yesterday's company board meeting.

Following O.P. Jindal's death, the post of chairman has fallen vacant in Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) controlled by the third son, Ratan Jindal, and Jindal Steel and Power Ltd controlled by youngest son, Naveen Jindal.

The senior Jindal was initially chairman of the four major group companies, while the sons were vice-chairmen of their respective companies.

The next board meeting of Jindal Stainless is scheduled for Thursday. The official agenda, however, does not mention the selection of the chairperson.
