Sensex down 32 pts
Mumbai: Large amounts of selling in
index-based stocks resulted in the sensex and S&P CNX Nifty closed on Monday with a
loss of 32 and 11 points respectively.
The sensex, which opened weak at 3,570.53,
against its previous close of 3,576, recovered to an intra-day high of 3,579.24, but began
dipping to and intra-day low at 3,502.08 before closing at 3,544.08, a loss of 31.92
points.
The National Stock Exchange Nifty also
dipped by 1.25 points to close at 1,128.35, against its earlier close of 1,139.60.
After a gap of almost three months, the
RIL stock lost more than 6.45 per cent on the first day of new settlement at BSE. The RIL
stock topped the losers list and closed at Rs 357.
Dr Reddys Lab was one of the major
losers after the news report of GAAP in companies net profit were out in the market. The
stock lost close to 4 per cent at Rs 950.65.
