Goodricke board reconstituted
Kolkata: The five-member board of Goodricke group has once again been reconstituted, with the induction of two more directors. Ms. Sudha Kaul and Mr. Kantanand Sinha have been appointed as additional directors of the group with effect from January 1.

Ms. Sudha Kaul is a doctorate from the Manchester Metropolitan University and is an active social worker. She is also a trustee and vice-chairperson of the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy (formally Spastic Society of Eastern India).
Mr. Kantanand Sinha is a senior banker and has recently retired as senior manager, eastern region, Kongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.

Other members of the newly restructured board are P A Legatt (chairman), K S David (managing director), P Majumdar (director), P E Hill (director), A K Mathu (director). Incorporated in 1977, the Goodricke group is the third largest tea producing group in India and is a leading producer of Darjeeling tea.

. Rahul Bajaj might step down before term-end
Pune: Mr.Rahul Bajaj, chairman and managing director of Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) has reportedly stated that he could step down as managing director, when his current term ends in over next four years or perhaps even earlier. His elder son, Mr.Rajiv Bajaj is likely to be his successor to the MD’s position in BAL. Mr. Raul Bajaj will however, continue to be the chairman of the company.

Mr. Rahul Bajaj was elected CMD of the company for a five-year-term last year. He had joined as director of the managing agency of Bajaj Auto and was later elevated to the post of managing director on April 1, 1970. He took over as chairman and managing director of the company on May 1, 1972, after the death of his father.
