bags Intel Fellowship
New York: Indian-American Mr. Valluri Rao
has been named among this years eight Intel Fellows, considered to be companys
highest technical position that recognises outstanding research contributions within Intel
Corporation.
Born in Hyderabad, Valluri Rao, 46, is among only 36 Intel Fellows appointed to date, who
are selected through a stringent company-wide, four month-long selection process from
several thousand Intel employees worldwide.
This prestigious designation recognizes their ability to exercise technical leadership and
role modeling and mentoring for less senior technical contributors.

Gita Piramal to join ISB
Bangalore: The Indian School of
Business (ISB) has announced the appointment of Gita Piramal as the associate dean for
ISB's publishing arm - ISB Interactive. The school, coming up on 250 acres of land in
Hyderabad, has already lined up associations with two of the world's most prestigious
management institutions - Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University
and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Gita Piramal as the associate dean of ISB Interactive will take charge of ISB's publishing
efforts in both traditional and new media. She will focus on sourcing and disseminating
information on diverse management subjects and themes to practicing managers.

Chirayu Amin joins as Ficci
president
New Delhi: The pharma major Alembic's
chief Mr. Chirayu R Amin has assumed the office of president, Federation of Indian
Chambers of Commerce for 2000-01, a Ficci statement has said.
Mr Chirayu Amin, who has been a senior member of the executive committee of Ficci for past
several years, had earlier held posts like chairman Ficci committees on management and
environment besides heading the Indo-Italian and Indo-Spanish joint business councils.
He is also past-president of the Indian chapter of the International Chambers of Commerce,
Paris and of the All-India Organisation of Employees and Federation of Gujarat Industries,
Mumbai. Mr Amin is also on the board of directors in Shri Dinesh Mills, Shreno, Sona
Steering Systems and Whitefield Agrotech.

Narayana Murthy to
head Bangalore airport panel
Bangalore: Mr N. Narayana
Murthy, chairman of Infosys Ltd. will head the high-level committee constituted by the
Karnataka government to quicken the pace of the Bangalore International Airport project.
With Mr Murthys appointment, the state government is hoping that international
airport project in the city would get more ``credibility'' and help in completing the
project more expeditiously.
Two consortiums -- Swiss and Swedish --
are in the reckoning for this project. The government had already acquired 3,000 acres of
land for this project. The centre and the government of Karnataka would each hold 13 per
cent stake in the project, with 74 per cent being held by the partner.
