VSNL increases bandwidth capacity
New Delhi: In
pursuing its stated objective of obtaining greater strength in the Internet arena, Videsh
Sanchar Nigam (VSNL) is commissioning a new stream of 155 mb bandwidth. With this, its
total capacity at New Delhi has increased to 211 mb, and the overall capacity should soon
touch 1 gb.
The new link is expected to bring a
comfortable bandwidth in the entire northern region and the corporation would be able to
contribute further towards the growth of the internet and it industry through its gateways
at New Delhi, Dehradun, Jalandhar and Kanpur.

UTI Securities Exchange MD resigns
Mumbai: Mr. P
Pushpagandan, managing director, UTI Securities Exchange, has resigned and is understood
to be joining the financial services business of Larsen & Toubro.
While the company hopes to fill the position in its normal tradition of appointing any of
its general managers to the post, global consultants Arthur Andersen have advised that the
post be filled by professional persons from outside.
