Government may allow private oil companies marketing
rights
New Delhi: It is likely
that private refinery companies like, Reliance Petroleum and Mangalore Refineries and
Petrochemicals, who have been lobbying hard for marketing rights, will be given marketing
rights as soon as the disinvestment process in IBP is completed.
Although the disinvestment process may be initiated this year itself, it may take another
six months before the entire procedure is completed. This could then bring in some good
news for the domestic private refineries who have been trying to make a case for marketing
rights.
