Zee Interactive unveils 24-hour learning channel 
Mumbai: Zee Interactive Learning Systems, the wholly owned subsidiary of Zee Network, launched the country’s first 24-hour education channel.

With an investment of Rs 100 crore for creating a technology-based learning network, the channel hopes to earn a revenue of Rs 500-700 crore in the next five years. According to Mr. Subhash Chandra, chairman of Zee, the group is keen on leveraging its expertise in broadcast media to cater to national needs of education. He believes that the channel is the first step to help the country achieve its potential as an information super power.

The channel, Zed TV, has a wide range of programs that address the learning needs of every age group: early childhood learning (2 to five years old), primary school (six to 10 years old), secondary school (11 to 14 years), high school (15 to 18 years), college students (18 to 21 years), working professionals, women and households.

According to Ms. Uma Ganesh, president and chief executive of Zee Interactive, every programme on the channel is built around the level 4 methodology that ensures the effective integration of content on Zed TV with the Internet through zeelearn.com. Interactive support is provided through Zee Livewire and personal contact sessions through the Zed Career Academies.

Sensex dips at the Bombay Stock Exchange
Mumbai: Haunted by the date, and the continuing Middle East crisis, which lifted crude oil prices, the Bombay Stock Exchange sensex 109 points to touch 3,714 points.

The hangover of the crash in the US markets was seen in the morning itself as the stock prices opened lower in the morning with the sensex touching a low of 3,714.46 during the day.
