Indian names figure in top
management reshuffle at Unilever
Mumbai: He may have lost out in the race for heading the
countrys most admired FMCG company, Hindustan Lever, but Mr. Harish Manwani, former
director for personal products at the Indian company, is slated for bigger things.
In an internal reshuffle, Unilever has
appointed Manwani, who is currently Unilever senior vice-president, HPC category
(worldwide), as executive vice-president (HPC) for Latin America from October 1, 2000. He
will then go on to become president, HPC category, Latin America from April 1, 2001. The
Latin American region of Unilever generates over $2 billion in revenue.
Simultaneously, two other Indian managers
have been given significant positions within the group.
Mr. Naren Nanda who was senior
vice-president (corporate strategy) for Unilevers Strategy and Technology Group will
become senior vice-president (human resources) for Unilevers Worldwide Home and
Personal Care Division from January 1, 2001.
Mr. C V Natraj, HLLs executive director (research), has been appointed senior
vice-president (corporate research) in Unilevers Research, Strategy and Technology
Group. Natraj will also continue to hold, for the time being, his current position as
HLLs research director.
