Aditya Vij to take over as managing director at GM India
New Delhi: Even as its sales graph shows an increasing trend, General Motors India, announced that Mr. Aditya Vij will be taking over as managing director of the company from Mr. Richard Swando this month.

The company, which has witnessed a surge in sales in recent months, attributed the surge to the growing demand for its recently introduced Opel Corsa and the refurbished Opel Astra.

LTITL finds new chief executive in VK Magapu
Mumbai:
The management of engineering giant, Larsen & Toubro, has moved fast to find a replacement for Mr. Achyut Godbole who recently resigned as chief executive of its IT arm, LTITL.

The company recently appointed Mr. Vijay Kumar Magapu as the new chief executive of L&T Information Technology Limited. Mr. Magapu, who moves from the parent company where he has been from 1996, takes over from October 1.

In a statement issued to the press, L&T chief executive and managing director Mr. A M Naik said, "Under Mr. Magapu’s able leadership LTIT would play a key role in achieving the vision of the company becoming a leader in IT and moving up the value chain."

Firestone CEO may be replaced
Tokyo:
It is understood that troubled US tyre maker, Firestone, may reshuffle its top management leading to the replacement of its current chief executive, Mr. Masatoshi Ono.

Speculation about the change has been rife in the wake of the recall of 6.5 million Firestone-brand tires linked to dozens of U.S. road deaths. Bridgestone president Mr. Yoichiro Kaizaki was quoted as telling the Nikkei Business magazine that he will ask for Ono's resignation.

At U.S. Senate and House hearings last month, Ono, who is also a Bridgestone executive vice president, accepted personal responsibility for Firestone's recall.
