UTI may move SC on termination of Rajlakshmi unit scheme
Mumbai: Faced with a barrage of legal battles across the country, on the termination of its Rajlakshmi unit scheme, the Unit Trust of India is weighing the option of moving to the Supreme Court to transfer all petitions pending before high courts against the termination.

UTI is said to be in discussions with its legal advisers and is expected to take a final view on the matter on October 3.

The trust already faces stay orders from the Punjab and Haryana High Court and another petition is pending for hearing at the division bench of the Bombay High Court. UTI is fearing similar petitions coming up in various courts of the country and this could cause varying orders.

The trust now has to take a decision on whether it should wait for the Bombay High Court to the take up the matter or go ahead and file a transfer of all petitions with the Supreme Court.
