UTI gets two new executive directors
Mumbai
: Following the exit of Mr. Basudeb Sen, executive director, who has assumed charge of the Calcutta based Industrial Investment Bank of India , the country’s largest mutual fund has effected a major organisational restructuring.

In the process, two chief general managers, Mr. DSR Murthy and Mr. B S Pandit, have been promoted as executive directors, thus raising the total number of executive directors, to six.

The departments held by Mr. Sen are being reallocated to the other executive directors with effect from July 19, 2000.

Under the reallocation, Mr. Murthy will handle the areas of HRD, investment, investment accounts administration and monitoring of UTI Securities Exchange. Mr. Pandit will handle the departments of IT, including generic software project, business process re-engineering implementation department, department of accounts and will also hold charge of the eastern zone.

The south zone has been handed over to Mr. K G Vassal executive director who will add that to his existing portfolio.

The northern zone and compliance cell has been reallocated to Mr. A K Thakur whose revised responsibilities now include apart from that, department of investment monitoring and special recovery group, department of internal audit, and credit rating cell.

Executive director Mr. Manmohan M Kapur has been allocated an additional responsibility of monitoring of UTI Bank, while executive director Mr. Brij Gopal Daga has been entrusted with Department of operations, BPR co-ordination, western zone and monitoring of UTI Investor Services in addition to his existing responsibilities.

Ramadorai on Tata Industries board
Mumbai: According to a release from Bombay House, the headquarters of the Tata group, Mr. S. Ramadorai, chief executive officer, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has been appointed as Director on the board of Tata Industries Ltd (TIL), the promoter company within the Tata Group for new initiatives.

Mr. Ramadorai is also the Vice-Chairman of Tata Elxsi (India) Ltd and is on the director board of Tata Infotech Ltd, WTI Advanced Technologies Pvt Ltd, Aerospace Systems Ltd (India), Global Procurement Consultants Ltd, India, Tata Internet Services Ltd and Innova TV Inc (USA).
