Amex PFS Asia-Pacific gets new chief in Kotwal
Mumbai: Mr. Shailesh Kotwal, regional head for emerging markets in the personal financial services (PFS) of the American Express Bank, has been recently appointed as head of the division’s Asia-Pacific region based in Singapore.

In his new role, he will be responsible for PFS businesses in HongKong, India, Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan as well as the bank’s Offshore Personal Banking Centre in Singapore.

Kotwal joined Amex in 1989 as an analyst and was responsible for business planning functions in New York. In 1994, he assumed the responsibility of chief financial officer of Amex Bank (France) and in 1996 he became the head of global strategy and finance for the PFS business.

The bank’s PFS business has a presence in 11 countries — Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the UK and Mexico.
