State Bank of Travancore gets new managing director
Mumbai: Mr. P N Venkatachalam, currently deputy managing director, State Bank of India, has taken over as managing director of State Bank of Travancrore. He replaces Mr. Vepa Kamesan, former managing director of the bank.

Following the appointment of Mr. Venkatachalam at the State Bank of Travancore, there is a vacancy for the post of a deputy managing director at the parent bank. According to sources two candidates, Mr. A K Purwar -- CGM in charge of the Mumbai Local Head Office -- and Mr. R. Krishnamurthy -- CGM, officer on special duty in charge of insurance initiatives, have been shortlisted.
