Nobi Gupta quits Videocon
Mumbai: Videocon International’s director (marketing) Nabendu ("Nobi") Gupta has quit after a 12-year stint with the company. It is believed that Mr Gupta is considering two options, one with an entertainment company overseas, and the other with an FMCG company in India.

BMA award for Kumar Mangalam Birla
Mumbai: AV Birla group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla has been named ‘Management man of the year’ for 1999-2000 by the Bombay Management Association. The award will be conferred on him on 26 May 26 at the BMA's annual general meeting.

New MD at Wyeth Lederle
Mumbai: Wyeth Lederle Ltd has appointed Ranga Iyer as managing director. Mr Iyer will replace Baldev Arora, who has been appointed by Wyeth-Ayerst International Inc as India representative and area vice-president, Indian sub-continent and South East Asia. Mr Arora will continue to be on the board of the Indian operations.

Kraft Foods' Eckert joins Mattel as CEO
New York: The world’s largest toy maker, Mattel Inc, known for its Barbie dolls, has appointed Robert Eckert as chief executive officer in place of Jill Barad, who was removed in February 2000. Mr Eckert has announced his resignation as president and chief executive of Philip Morris Co's Kraft Foods Inc.
