Its caught and bowled for Hansie Cronje
New Delhi/Durban:
The ongoing controversy on match-fixing allegations against, till now respected and apparently unimpeachable, Hansie Cronje, the captain of the South African cricket team came to an astounding end with the man in question admitting to have received money.

The admission, after initial denials, came in the wee hours of Tuesday morning when Hansie called Dr. Ali Bacher, head of the South African cricket board, and made the confession. The confession brought about swift reaction from the board which has replaced him with Shaun Pollock as captain. The confession also creates a major scandal across cricketing nations, which have been deluged by match fixing allegations for several years now. What is noteworthy in this entire episode is that almost all the allegations involve bookies from the Indian sub-continent, who seem to have taken control over, once gentleman’s, game.
