Birla Management Corp gets new faces
Mumbai: The Birla Management Corporation - the highest planning and strategic decision
making body of the Aditya Birla group -- recently inducted Mr. V.T. Moorthy and Mr. Bharat
Singh as directors of the body.
Mr. Moorthy, who was, until recently, the president
of a well know sponge iron company, will take over from Mr. B. L. Shah and will be
responsible for the rayon and chemical operations of Indian Rayon, the caustic soda
business of Grasim and Tanfac.
Mr. Singh, the senior group president for corporate
strategy and business development will continue to handle this function in his new
position.

P. L. Reddy to join Sebi board
Mumbai: The Securities and Exchanges Board of India (Sebi) today appointed Mr. P. L.
Reddy as a member on its board.
Mr. Reddy, who is currently the secretary, department
of company affairs, is an IAS officer of 35 years standing. and has won several awards for
managerial excellence, productivity enhancement for all round achievement and brilliance
and excellence in the field of public administration, industrial management and strategic
policy formulation and implementation.

Amit Chandra to head
international finance at Merill Lynch
Mumbai: Mr. Amit Chandra, head of international corporate finance at DSP Merill Lynch,
has been appointed the country head of international banking, India and will be based in
Singapore.
The first Indian to head the international finance
division of the global player, Mr. Chandra will be responsible for handling all the
multi-national client operating in India.
