HLL gets new directors and revamps management committee
Mumbai: With Keki Dadiseth, incumbent chairman going to the UK to take up an
international posting with the Unilever group and M.S. Banga replacing him as chairman of
Hindustan Lever Limited, some more changes have been effected in the composition of the
board of directors.
Elevated to the post of vice chairman of the board
is Mr. M. K. Sharma, currently director legal of the company. The company has also
created a new position of an executive director in charge of new ventures, which position
will be looked after by Mr. Dalip Sahgal. The other executive directors who continue on
the board are: Mr. D. Sundaram as director finance, Mr. Gurdeep Singh as director
personnel, Mr. Art Weijburg as director home and personal products, Mr. V.
Balaraman as director exports and Mr. C. Natraj as director research.
Two new faces have been added to the board as
non-executive directors. They are Mr. C. K. Prahalad, noted management consultant and
currently professor at the University of at Michigan at Ann Arbor, and Mr. H. Khusrokhan,
managing director of Glaxo India Limited. The only other non-executive directors on the
board are Mr. Deepak Parekh, chairman of HDFC and Mr. V. Narayanan, former managing
director of group company, Ponds India, and now a management consultant.
The company also announced its new younger-looking
management committee. The members of this committee are: Mr. Arun Adhikari in charge of
personal products, Mr. R. Ravindranath in charge of beverages, Mr. G. Kapur in charge of
foods, Mr. J. Mehta in charge of ice creams, Mr. Satish Dhall in charge of plantations and
Mr. Anoop Mathur in charge of chemicals and agri business.

Eicher group gets new group
chairman in Sandilya
New Delhi: Mr. S. Sandilya, who was previously managing director of Eicher Motors
prior to his elevation to the position of vice chairman, today took over as group chairman
from Mr. Subodh Bhargava.
Mr. Bhargava retired from the group after serving its
for more than 25 years.
