Markets close the year end on a sombre note
Mumbai: With the financial year ending on March 31, the
stock markets were very weak. Led by a global crash in technology stocks as a result of
the statements made by mutual fund guru, Mr. Mark Mobius that internet stocks were
overvalued, the BSE saw a fall of over 500 points in the last four days. The BSE sensex
which saw some recovery to close at 5,001 points, a loss of 40 points over its previous
close. Mirroring the trend, the NSE CNX index closed at 1,214.40 points, marginally down
from its earlier close.
