IT stocks bounce back
Mumbai: After a brief lull in the market, the IT stocks, that had fuelled much of the
rise in the stock exchanges in the last few months, today once again bounced back into the
limelight. This resulted in the BSE sensex being pushed up by 74 points to close at
5,249.76 points. Unexpected support from the FIIs helped this rally.
Satyam Computer remained the top traded share with a turnover of Rs 784.70 crore of the
total volume of business of Rs 4323.92 crore. Other active scrips included Global
Tele-Systems (Rs 468.57 crore) and Himachal Futuristics (Rs 445.64 crore).
At the NSE, the S&P CNX Nifty closed at 1620.10 as against 1567.05 previously.

OTCEI back in the news
Mumbai: OTCEI was back in the news, with its wholly owned subsidiary, OTCEI Securities
Limited (OSL), beginning operations at the NSE. The NSE managing director executed the
first trade on OSL.
OSL plans to provide its dealers service only in demat
shares. The object of setting up the subsidiary was to provide brokers and sub-brokers of
small stock exchanges the access to trade on the capital market segment of relatively
larger exchanges like the NSE. Over 1,000 OTCEI brokers would enjoy the facility of
trading on the NSE as sub-brokers of OSL.
