SAIL may hit target by raising prices
New Delhi: The public sector Steel Authority of India Ltd is likely to raise the prices of its steel products in April as a means to reach a targeted turnover of Rs 18,000 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2002. It will also attempt to its product mix to improve average realisations.

Philips products will cost more
Calcutta: Philips India Ltd's consumer electronics products will cost 6 to 7 per cent more as a result of the increased taxation in the Union Budget for 2000-01. The company’s lighting products will, however, become cheaper.

The Philips India management expects the company to register an overall growth of 10 per cent in the current.

Electrolux will phase out Voltas brand
New Delhi: Electrolux will buy out Voltas Ltd’s entire stake in Electrolux Voltas Ltd soon, and phase out the Voltas brand onall the products sold by this joint venture.

The Voltas brand will be replaced by Electrolux Maxclean, and the company will launch a new range of top load washing machines with the new brand before year-end. The Maxclean brand will also be used for vacuum cleaners.

Rohm & Haas expanding investment
New Delhi: Rohm & Haas Co of the US will increase its operations in India through acquisitions as well as greenfield projects, according to Raj Gupta, chairman and CEO of the company.
