Inflation down further
New Delhi: The rate of inflation for the week ending 1 January dropped to
2.7 per cent, aided by falling prices of primary articles. The lower rates of inflation in
almost the entire current financial year are the result of comparison with a higher base
in the previous year, when prices rose more steeply.

Review index page TiE to present proposals on IITs
New Delhi: IndUS Entrepreneurs, or TiE, the US-based NRI group of
infotech businessmen, will submit a proposal to the government on upgrading the standards
of the Indian Institutes of Technology. Kanwal Rekhi, president of TiE, said TiE will
present specific proposals to the government in the next six months to make the IITs world
class educational institutions.
