Sarin is Bombay Dyeing MD
Mumbai: Adhiraj Sarin, managing director,
Hind Lever Chemicals, has been appointed managing director of
Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company. The company did not
have a managing director for the last 18 months, since its
previous incumbent, D.S.Alva, retired.
Mr Sarin is expected to take up the job on 1
April 2000.
The company has also announced that P.V.
Kuppuswamy, who has been executive director, will be designated
joint managing director.

Alex von Behr is Coca-Cola head in India
New Delhi: Alex von Behr has taken over as
the country head of Coca-Cola India. He succeeds Donald Short, who
is taking over as group president of Coca-Colas Africa and
Middle East group.
Mr Behr has been a regional manager of
Coca-Colas operations in Malaysia and Singapore.

Mumtaz Ahmad is dead
Calcutta: Mumtaz Ahmad, a director on the board
of Williamson Magor group, died on 9 January following a heart
attack. He was 74.
Mr Ahmad has been an key figure in the tea
industry activities in the north east and was a member of the Tea
Board for a long time. He was associated with the Balmer Lawrie
group in the 1950s and was a whole time director of the company.
