IDBI to become a universal bank
Mumbai: The board of Industrial Development bank of India has given
mandate to the management of the bank to convert itself into a universal bank. It has told
the bank to prepare a plan to achieve universal bank status with a focus on increasing
international business. The in-principle approval
came after the board discussed the recommendations made by Mrityunjaya Athreya, management
consultant appointed by the bank to prepare a restructuring plan.
