Rajan Krishnan joins Zurich Asset
Mumbai: Rajan Krishnan, vice-president, sales, Kothari Pioneer AMC, has resigned from the company. He is joining Zurich Asset Management (India) as vice-president, sales and marketing. Mr Krishnan will replace Udayan Basu, senior vice-president, sales and distribution.

Dhirubhai Ambani is Indian businessman of century
Mumbai: Dhirubhai Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, has been voted as the "Indian businessman of the century" by a worldwide poll conducted by a magazine, Business Barons of Mumbai..

The poll, which received response from countries like Australia and the US, has selected Mr Ambani as the leader from a list of 10 nominations, which included J.R.D. Tata, G.D. Birla and Aditya Birla.

L’Oreal owner is richest European
London: Liliane Bettencourt, who runs the 60 billion-euro cosmetics firm L’Oreal, is Europe’s richest individual with a personal fortune of 14 billion euros A close second is Leo Albrecht, head of Germany’s Aldi supermarket chain, whose personal wealth amounts to 11 billion euros.

EuroBusiness magazine, which conducted a survey, said Albrecht is a recluse, and has not been seen in public for 21 years, for fear of being kidnapped.

The magazine said Germany has the largest number of billionaires -- 47-- followed by France (25), Britain (22) Switzerland (18) and Italy (16). Francois Pinault, who controls the Pinault-Printemps-Redoute group, which owns department stores, Christie’s auctioneers, the Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci fashion houses, is France’s richest man with 9.2 billion euros in wealth. The youngest person to make the list is Allegra Versace, 13-year-old niece of Gianni Versace who was gunned down in Miami. Ms Versace is worth 1.85 billion euros.
