Rajen Lav, GM, HP-ISO
Mumbai: Rajen Lav is the new general manager, operations, of Hewlett-Packard’s India Software Operations. He will be responsible for information technology, commercial, partner alliance, facilities and administration. He has been associated with Hewlett-Packard since 1989 in various capacities. An electronics engineering graduate, he started his career with Blue Star.

Pittalwala to head Blackstone’s operations
Mumbai: Sakina Pittalwala is  general manager of India operations of Blackstone Market Facts, part of the $6.6 billion Aegis Group. Ms Pittalwala has been heading the firm’s qualitative research division. She has been with ORG-Marg earlier.

Jail for Indian executive
Paris: An Indian business executive, Chand Mehta, was sentenced to six months in jail for violating French trademark and copy rights law on a complaint made by carmaker Peugeot. He was also given a three-month suspended term by the court. In addition to the prison term, Mr Mehta, chief exports manager of Autolite India, a Jaipur-based firm, was asked to pay a fine equivalent of Rs 15 lakh.

Mr Mehta was arrested at the Equip Auto ’99 exhibition in Paris in October 1999 on complaints from Peugeot that the Indian firm had put on display a headlight for Peugeot 205 for which it had no licence. He was later enlarged on bail.
